Regional HR Director
Cambridge/East Anglia
Hybrid working – 3/2
Package: 90k + Car Allowance + Bonus

Well, what a couple of years it has been!

After all of the ups and downs, it seems that we are finally moving forwards and returning to some kind of normality.  It’s been a challenging time for businesses and the HR teams within them.

We are currently working with a business that has weathered the storm well.  They made a profit, their bonus scheme paid out (not a massive bonus, but hey a bonus is a bonus!) and they continued with their growth plans.

This continued growth will mean a few changes to their business and so they need an extra pair of hands.  And by an extra pair of hands, we mean a commercially astute HR Director with experience of working with knowledge-based client groups across a global remit.  There is a heavy focus on developing talent and employee engagement.

In terms of the role content, it’s a real mix.  Interesting work though as you will be leading on a number of improvement projects as well a supporting your senior managers and leaders in a true business partner capacity.  Everything their HR team does is focused on continually improving the development and retention of a highly skilled workforce.  From physical facilities, through competitive reward to opportunities for development, they want to continue to be the best employer that they can be.

About you – Firstly, you need to understand what it means to be a true business partner and most importantly enjoy operating in this capacity.  If you have worked with global sales teams and have strong experience in developing innovative Talent strategies, then this will also stand you in good stead.  From the CEO down there is great respect for HR, which has been gained through the strong relationship building skills of the HR team and their ability to implement commercially aligned HR interventions.

So, if this is what you enjoy, it is certainly worth investigating.  Secondly, you need to have the skills to back up the above.  We won’t waste your time by listing all of the skills of a strong HRD, as if you are one or on the way to being one, then you’ll already know!

This is a big challenge, and we are looking for a lot, however, in return, you will be joining an organisation that places great emphasis on its people and their ongoing development.  The team is small but highly capable, very supportive and has lots of personality.  They work hard, but also enjoy their time and will very much look forward to welcoming you to their team.
